Simple syrup is made from sugar and water boiled together. The French use this syrup to keep the cake and pastry moist and sweet plus is an excellent carrier for flavors and liquors.

Ingredients Required: Syrup

| Granulated Sugar |
8 ounces |
| Water |
10 ounces |
Preparation Instructions: Syrup
| By weight measure 10 ounces of water into a 2 cup Pyrex
measure |
| Add sugar and stir until dissolved |
| Boil in the microwave until a full hard boil is obtained,
be sure all the granules of sugar are dissolved |
| Cool to room tempurature and pour into a container
for storage in your refrigerator. |
Mix 3 parts syrup to 1 part alcohol.
